"Vegetation #1"
A painting created entirely with fruits and vegetables

Title: "Vegetation #1"

Size/support: Acrylic on 18" X 24" studio-wrapped, stretched canvas

Work date: 2008

Edges are staple-free and painted blue. COA included; signed and dated on the front & reverse. Finished with 2 coats of clear gloss varnish.

This is the first offering in this series. The paint was applied directly onto the fruits and veggies, which were then pressed onto the canvas as a transfer or used as a brush (as the carrots were utilized.) This process continued until I was pleased with the final composition of the floral theme. This series is intended to be whimsical and fun (and an interesting conversation piece).

This original painting consists of an array of colors (including metallics) that would go well in almost any setting. Here are some close-up views of this artwork:
